Paaras by Shine Shivan

In Paaras, Shine Shivan expands his engagement with myth and folklore, using painting as a kind of alchemy. Working in oil for the first time, he draws from ancient narratives while grounding them in a contemporary visual language shaped by Persian and Indian miniatures, colonial art, and Chola bronzes.

Rooted in his travels and encounters with oral traditions, these works explore doubling, merging identities, and fluid, devotional forms. The series ultimately charts a landscape where stories evolve through constant transformation.
