Home is wherever you are marks Rekha Rodwittiya’s 18th solo exhibition with Sakshi Gallery. The exhibition brings together paintings, embroidery, carpets, photography and watercolours, reflecting the artist’s ongoing engagement with memory, lived experience, history and the narratives of women.
Central to Rodwittiya’s practice is a continuing examination of women’s lives and experiences within broader structures of geography, politics, gender and social hierarchy. Through her layered compositions and varied materials, she creates works that hold together the personal and the political, inviting reflection on the ways histories are shaped, lived and remembered.
