How do artists translate memory as both an ephemeral form and a lasting imprint? Memory Keepers brings together the practices of Debashish Paul, Élodie Alexandre, Hasan Ali Kadiwala, Moumita Basak, and Sudipta Das, artists who draw upon memory through myriad contexts, not as a static record but as lived experiences that can be recollected, re-shaped, questioned at times and transmitted. Memories are evoked across different registers: as a means to reconcile and contend with the personal, as a way to record and transcribe the fleeting or as carriers of collective and intergenerational histories that continue to resonate with the present.
